7 Reasons LG InstaView™ Door-in-Door® Refrigerator is Perfect for Families
As a mom with kids and a husband who all love to stand with the refrigerator door open to “see what is inside,” I am always hollering at my family for them to close the fridge door. Well, now with the LG InstaView™ Door-in-Door® refrigerator with a tinted glass panel, I can relax and smile. The appliance has a system where you knock on the door twice, you can see what is inside, without even opening the door! However, this is one of many innovative features.
As somewhat of a tech nerd I read about it the minute it was introduced. This month while looking to purchase a new fridge I decided to examine it myself. While shopping for a new refrigerator at our local Best Buy, I ran across The LG’s InstaView™ Door-in-Door® refrigerator. I was immediately drawn to the sleek design and features as well as the company’s reputation.Based out of Seoul, South Korea, LG has been around for a long time. In fact, LG started in 1947 as a cosmetic company. LG has Over the course of a half of a century LG is now a front runner is electronics such as cell phones and home appliances. Today LG employs 137,000 domestic employees and 85,000 overseas employees.
#2 The InstaView™ Door-in-Door® knock feature
Simply knock twice on the door, and its LED lights up allowing you to see inside, it is that simple. The “Knock twice” feature will not only keep wandering hands from opening the refrigerator door, it allows families to preserve food longer, and will cut down on your energy bills. Maintaining food longer, and cutting down my energy bills is important to me.
#3 The ColdSaver Panel™
The LG’s InstaView™ Door-in-Door® refrigerator also has a ColdSaver™ Panel that helps reduce air loss in your refrigerator. The InstaView™ Door-in-Door® is great because all the most popular items like milk, and drinks can be stored in the ColdSaver™ Panel. Doing so will allow the central part of the refrigerator temperature to stay the same, not allowing for temperature drops, which can lead to food spoilage and waste. The LG’s InstaView™ Door-in-Door® is also very energy efficient.
#4Fingerprint resistant
There were several reasons that got me looking for a new fridge. Ours is getting old, and one of the doors isn’t closing well anymore. Purchased back in 2002 it is quite the energy guzzler. And to top the list, we are currently trying to stop my son’s (with autism) habit of the middle of the night snacks. So, the InstaView™ Door-in-Door® fridge with its locking feature and door alarm would be perfect for my family.
If it’s energy efficiency andInstaView™ Door-in-Door® weren’t enough, here is another feature that moms are sure to love. They are fingerprint resistant. Imagine how great would it be to sit down with your morning coffee, and not have to think about washing down the front of the refrigerator?

Ok, I didn’t actually get to ‘test drive’ it but did check it out thoroughly with the guidance of the very knowledgeable and patient Best Buy store personnel.
#5 Internal organization
The first thing that surprised me was how roomy it was. I am organizing freak (I prefer to use the term diva) and I love nooks and crannies to put everything in its place.Unlike the traditional older side by side, this one is incredibly well planned and executed. The French style doors fold out and items are accessible. No more bending down digging for anything! And all drawers are deep enough for those gigantic party trays and close shut so smoothly. Did you know that there’s an option to make the center drawer a freezer when needed? Genious!
#6 The Door Alarm
That partial door would make all the difference in my daily life. That compartment can keep my son’s favorite items that he uses often so he won’t be opening the inside of the fridge all the time.And with the door alarm, I wouldn’t have to trail him around nagging him to close the door.
#7 The LED Lighting
This refrigerator is a beauty! With its partial glass door, it doesn’t have the boxy look of other appliances in its category and will actually add elegance to the kitchen! That glass door with the tapping mechanism temps everyone to touch it and watch how it lights up. Furthermore, I loved the soft LED inside lighting. One of my personal peeves are those areas in the fridge you can’t see well when the fridge is poorly lit. That’s how forgotten take out boxes and expired items stay in the fridge longer than expected. With this fridge, all areas are lit so you can actually notice everything!
Where to Buy the LG InstaView™ Door-in-Door® refrigerator
The only initial thing that bothered me just a little bit is the price.
They range from about $1,800.00 to over $7,600.00, as of June 20, 2017, depending on the model. In my case, our local Best Buy store had quite a selection of the new models to check out. Notice I said only a little bit bothered, that is because then I considered the savings. Between being Energy Efficient Qualified, and the door in door features I would see immediate savings on my electric bill! Also, it isn’t like I buy a fridge every year. A fridge is a major appliance and an investment in the home that will be in use for years.
