“Thanks” to the Neighbor Giving Out Chocolate Covered Coffee Beans
Thanks friendly neighbor for giving my ADHD, ASD, OCD boys chocolate covered coffee beans… either they are for me, then AWESOME! I love you! Or you can’t read Spanish, in which case you are an idiot for buying candy and you don’t know what it is.
Or you’re just an asshole and you thought it would be funny to give coffee beans to children. I am HOPING that these were intended for me and that you’re not an idiotic asshole who buys things in gourmet aisle just to say you bought your neighbor kids gourmet chocolate covered coffee beans.
Now that I am done with my bitching, I am thoroughly enjoying these coffee beans. I really needed that pick me up.
PS. Don’t forget to check their bags parents. You just might end up with kids who wont go to bed tonight.
My son is autistic as well and I have heard that some people give one chocolate covered coffee bean in the morning to help at school with behavior. As you may know, ADHD meds are stimulants and have an opposite effect on children with ADHD. My pediatrician had told me to give my son a Coke in the morning and at lunch instead of starting him on drugs. I was actually considering giving my son the chocolate covered coffee beans just to see if it helped.
Wonderful learning guys I’m a fan of your website.
is green coffee extract dangerous
I hope the person who wrote this blog was joking or at least has some mental health issue or rage problem to use as an excuse for being such a crabby asshole.
And seriously, as a parent does it surprise you that you should be checking what your kids eat before the eat it? Or do you always feed them just whatever the neighbours happen to be handing out.
@keystspf@xanga – LOL.. too funny… looking back I think my dad was, and my older brother.. then there is the crazy part of the family… we are one unique quirky family… gotta love it though
@polyhobbymommy – here, there are eight of us total… two of us who are definitely on the spectrum, two who might be, and four who are just plain crazy.
@keystspf@xanga – hahaha.. my house, is a pretty silly place..having two kids and hubby on the spectrum… I swear if it wasn’t for laugher we would go insane…
@polyhobbymommy – I find it interesting that I’m on the spectrum and I caught that it was satire and a bunch of people who may or may not be autistic totally missed it.
LOL.. Well frankly I was being sarcastic..Bitchy people like me? Nice one! I am not going to sugar coat my annoyance. Do you think I
told my neighbor off? No.. of course not they are great people. Can I
bitch on my blog? But of course! And what kid goes to bed early? Ummm…
mine do. I am not about to deal with whiny evil kids at 11 at night.
They are in bed between 6:30 & 7:30. Is because I’m stick? Partially, but mostly because they say they are tired. If you
guys can’t tell I was being silly.. then that’s your problem not mine.
Now why was this featured? I have no clue.. that is actually pretty funny as well. BTW, I thoroughly enjoyed those beans. I thought it was hilarious that someone would give children chocolate covered coffee beans. Most likely we stopped by someone’s house who wasn’t planning of giving them candy, but my kids talked so much they said “Oh shit..these brats won’t shut up… pass me that candy that’s sitting on the table from that gift basket we won!”
Ease up people… the world wont end because of a foolish blog entree.
@keystspf@xanga – satire… though I am getting a laugh from all these comments
Thank God. All these comments are one of the first indications in a long while that the human race remains somewhat sane still. Great job everyone! Bitchy people like this are the reason all good things are eventually taken away in life…
Your neighbors probably didn’t know your kids are hyperactive. Big deal.
I think it’s funny that you expect your neighbours to know that your children have ADHD, ASD, and OCD. They probably did not know, and were just giving out nice treats that they thought everyone would enjoy. Now, any parent SHOULD ALREADY be going through their childs candy to make sure that there was not anything given to them that was dangerous, and something that they don’t want their child having. So quite complaining about it, and be thankful that you have a safe neighbourhood where your children can at least go out tricker treatin’ still.
Also, your child with ASD and ADHD should probably not be having candy in general, depending on the kinds of sensitivities he has. But that’s just a thought in the back of my head.
Hahaha, I fail to see how this is a big deal!
I’d think candy in general would make kids hyper.. o-0
(And chocolate covered coffee beans sounds delish! I WANT SOME OF THAT!)
@weightjourney2005@xanga –
When I was a kid this one guy gave us boxes of jello mix, lol, it was funny as hell!
The light at his house was on, but right after we left with our gelatin loot, the light turned off.
It was still nice that he gave us something, there’s so many jerks in the world.. that every nice gesture counts!
Wow. You do know that people aren’t obliged to give candy to your kids right? Take what you get and be a little more grateful. You’re like a beggar who complains when someone gives him small change instead of dollar bills.
CHILL OUT.
you caught them before your kids stuffed their faces to why piss yourself over nothing?
Man. NOW I know what I am doing next year for Halloween. Wish I could move to your neighbourhood.
Maybe, he didnt expect trick or treaters? I know occasionally when I was growing up we would go to someones house who had the light on because they were waiting for their wife or something. Or they had motion lights and because so many people were walking by it stayed on and they have almost felt they “needed” to give something, so I have gotten soda, gum, money etc. because they didnt expect it.
More than that it is free, so please shut up, you are a selfish person who should just be thankful that there is still people who are kind enough to give your kids something!
chocolate coffee beans arnt cheap!
Last I looked, a majority of ADHD kids have reverse reaction with caffeine…
And I am with the general consensus that you should STFU and look through your kids’ bags. I mean, you should be looking out for the real assholes who put razors and drugs in their chocolate, not gourmet that you probably can’t even understand.
Is this post an overreaction or SATIRE? Somehow I doubt this is quite as serious as people seem to be taking it…
One step ahead. I check their bags to get my cut.
Nice.
And why is this featured?
Calm the fuck down already, eesh.
that’s it chocolate covered coffee beans ?
Not needles in chocolates ? or razor in Candy apples ? Cause these are the major concerns for parents if they find something that would endangers their children lives
did you call 9-wa-wa for a waambulance after that happened? or wait… you didn’t have to because you’re making a mountain out a molehill.
Maybe he specifically intended them to be found by the parent as a treat for a typically child-filled event.
Relax..
lol
Okay, you got the refined sugar and the caffeine in chocolate itself, and you complain about the only natural thing in the candy?
Yeah, the neighbor probably shouldn’t have given out coffee beans (i would have been thrilled to have gotten them though lol) that’s also kinda weird but you also have the responsibility to check the kids bags before they eat anything. It’s not a big deal that you missed it though and it’s not a big deal in general. one night of extra hyper kids i think you can handle it. be a big girl.
Boo fu#ing hoo.
@lalalalaloveeee@xanga – lol
Wouldn’t bags full of sugary treats also be bad for your children? Why are you letting them trick or treat at all?
wait…do you eat the beans? I’m confused..
LMAO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Jeez calm down, maybe he thought it would be fun to give out something unique for a change and didn’t really think of the fact that they have caffeine in them. I doubt you’re important enough for him to go out of his way to make things inconvenient for you like that.
And when you send your child out to get a bunch of SUGAR FILLED candy, you really don’t have a good reason to complain.
Sorry, I just had to say that I love when someone who’s seriously self absorbed makes a post to complaing about how “horrible” someone is for not realizing that the poster is the center of the universe and they expect sympathy….yet the comments all point out what a self absorbed jerk you are.
Sorry that your neighbor was nice and handed out candy to your kids – hopefully word gets around your neighborhood and everyone refuses to give your kids anything in the future.
I don’t see how its an overreaction. I used to babysit kids who didn’t have ADD or ADHD or anything and I dreaded giving them anything caffeinated because I knew how crazy they would get.
LOL sucks to be you
well if you think about it, it -may- have cruel intentions to it.
but still this sounds like a major overreaction, they probably only had those at home; they don’t NEED to give out anything either.
all the sugar from the chocolate will make kids hyper anyway.
Wow, if you had told me about all their conditions, I would have given them each a vial of methylphenidate. Sorry about that!
@hollowhopes@xanga – Chocolate doesn’t have caffeine—- (http://www.xocoatl.org/caffeine.htm)
but i agree.
YOU ARE THE PARENT. THE NEIGHBOR IS NOT. They can give out the candy they fucking want because guess what? IT’S WHAT YOU DO ON HALLOWEEN.
It’s up to the PARENT to make sure they aren’t getting this. It would be YOUR FAULT if your children ate them.
jeesh..
get a life.
I wasn’t allowed to have gobstoppers when I was younger because of the time my sister choked on one, but that doesn’t make my neighbors assholes for passing them out. My mom just checked our candy and threw them out. Wow, that worked like magic, no more choking on gobstoppers.
I remember when I was a kid my parents always checked my Halloween candy for anything inappropriate. And then there was always that pile of candy I didn’t like that I would trade with my brother and friends. I don’t ever remember anyone having a fit over something they got for free from begging. There’s always that kid with the peanut allergy who ends up with a few Snickers that the parents have to take away. Should I now spend a ton of money on candy to be certain I have the appropriate item for each individual who comes to my door? If this is going to be the prevailing attitude towards Halloween trick-or-treating I think I’ll just turn off my light and not give out anything.
Yeah you’re overreacting. I agree with hollowhopes .. you should be lucky your child even was given candy so who are you to be picky about what your child gets. Sheesh, take a look at yourself.
Uh, overreacting just a little. I don’t think the neighbor checked what every child in the neighborhood might have. And since when does a kid go to bed early on Halloween anyway? They’re up all night eating candy. Chocolate has caffeine in it, too. You can’t expect the world to look out for you kids, and in this case, you were looking out for your own kids and you caught this before your kids at them. So, that’s a non-issue. I don’t think that makes him an asshole. He was generous enough to participate in trick or treat anyway.
Ya… that’s a little over the top. All the candy has so much sugar in it that most kids will probably be awake but COFFEE BEANS make it a lot worse.
You want some cheese with that whine?
I love Chocolate Coffee beans!
