How to use Autisable

Sometimes when joining a new site, you wonder what everything ‘means’.  What happens when I log in?  What does that button do?

Well, this is a quick introduction to what is what on the site, so you can navigate the site much easier.

Once you log in, you’ll end up on your profile page.  This is the main menu you’ll have on the site, and what each icon on the menu represents:

When you post using the selected the first icon (highlighted above), it’s like posting on a newsfeed wall.  In fact, to interact more with this feature, you can select NEWSFEED from the menu at the top of the site.  There you will see all of the posts of those that you follow on the site:

The next icon is your profile icon.  This just prompts you to update your profile information, like profile pic, cover photo, etc…
You can select the ‘gear’ pic to update your profile information.  Follow the prompts and add your cover photo and update other information.

To update your account information, you can select ‘Account settings’ from the main menu (as seen above).

The next two icons are for journal entries.  Journal entries can be viewed only by members of the site, and the content is displayed in the community stories of the site.  This feature is separate from blog entries, in that it doesn’t go through the editorial process with our editors.  This is a great feature if you want to only communicate your autism journey with only the people on the site.

When selecting ‘New Entry’ – this will appear:

Up next are your all of your posts:

Wonder what you said?  Click the comment icon to bring that back to your memory:

Did you submit posts to the editorial team?  Clicking this icon will display all of the posts and status that you’ve submitted to the editors for display on the main page and highlighted on our social media outlets:
Did you want to share something to our editors for review to be displayed on the main page?  Click the last icon and submit a post:

As with most social networking sites, it’s good to follow people.  Click “follow” on other members profiles.  Go to your newsfeed to view the recent updates.  Make note of the bell in the bottom right corner.  That is your onsite notifications of people interacting with you.

Have fun, be kind, and enjoy Autisable.

Don’t have an account yet?  Click ‘Join Our Community’ in the top menu.
