New to Rogers Academy

After many years, we were finally able to wear Leslie down to allow JoJo to join our homeschool.  It has been his lifelong dream to homeschool with us.  Seriously.  That’s what he said the first day of lessons.  I hugged him super tight.
JoJo joins the Rogers Academy in AO3.  He is a year behind Madison in age so I put him a year behind her in school.  This may change though.  He comes out of public school where it’s all about standardized testing scores.  He hasn’t been taught how to think or discover information in the books he reads.  We may need to go back a year to get that skill in place. That’s the great thing about homeschool.  We can go back to cement a skill then move on to where we need to be.
The plan is that JoJo will live here with us Monday to Friday going home with his mom on the weekends.  He seems to like this idea.  Madison thinks it’s swell for now.  She can always go to her room when he gets to be too much for her.  Logan has voiced his opinion that he doesn’t like to share his room.  I gave him the air mattress and all was well.  For some reason, Logan likes sleeping on the air mattress.  Weird, I know.
I have no doubt that once JoJo settles into the homeschool life that he will make remarkable improvements in narration.  We just need to undo some habits and show him the way.  I am so honored to be molding his young life in a positive way. Stay tuned for updates!
