(POLL) Are the people in your life understanding/supportive of your #Autism #Family? 

As an Autism parent, there are many things that make life challenging but one of the most difficult is in regards to relationships with friends and family after an Autism diagnosis.

We’ve been fortunate in the sense that the majority of our family is very supportive but they don’t truly understand what this is like. I can’t blame them because this isn’t easy to understand unless you’re living it, day in and day out.

Why it’s so hard to keep my kids with #Autism and #SPD fed

This issomething I’ve been meaning to talk about but haven’t gotten around to it. I know many of you parenting kids with Autism and or sensory processing disorder will be able to relate to this. 

I’m talking about how difficult it can be to feed my kids. 

This is one of those things that unless you’re experiencing it, it’s extremely difficult to wrap your head around because instinct tells us that if the child is really hungry, they’ll eat.

You Might Be An Autism Parent If This Post Makes Total Sense 

I got everything I needed to get done this morning, done. That’s pretty awesome.

That being said, it’s one of those days where I am just so beat, I ended up having to take a nap. It may seem like taking a nap is more of a choice and I guess in a way it is but for an Autism parent like myself, it’s not that simple.

I had reached a point where I was simply no longer going to be able to function.

It’s off to speech therapy we go

It’s off to speech therapy we go

Gavin and I are off to speech therapy. Lizze is staying behind because the boys will be getting dropped off by her Mom after school

While today hasn’t gone exactly as planned, we have made the best of it so far and I’m feeling good about that.  

The rest of the day is going to be sorta rush rush because when Gavin’s done with speech, we’ll have time to eat dinner before having to head out for family therapy

I will say that Tuesdays are by far, my most favorite day of the week.
