You know your child has Autism, which often encompasses a side order of OCD (obsessive compulsive disorder) when...
He falls asleep on the couch at 8:30, long before bedtime. When you transfer him to bed he wakes for a second and asks,
"whatcha doin mom?"
Knowing that he needs the bed routine to go a certain way you begin to sing the song that must be sung every night,
"You are my sunshine, my only..."
But you are cut off by the snoring. So you say phew and sneak out, happy to get one night away from the sunshine.
Then, at 3 AM, after being asleep for over 5 hours, he bursts into your room and screams,
"I THOUGHT WE HAD TO SING THE SONG!!!"
Unbelievable.
