He loves to point out what you might miss; A plane, a goose, a butterfly’s kiss. Happiness and compassion you will always see And if you are kind, a true friend he will be. Welcome to 1st Grade Alex,

You have worked so hard to overcome all the obstacles laid before you.  You have been forthright in your support of us as we navigate the neurological and psychological waters looking for what is best for you.  You have communicated with us to the highest of your ability, for which medications work, how important sleep is for you, for us, and have screamed to us, to scream to professionals that something is interrupting your sleep. You became the pilot of our family’s journey through stormy and cloud-laden skies. The one who has helped us become stronger, more educated, more caring people, parents.  Your love of all things simple, your observations of all that most would take for granted, you have encouraged us to slow, see and grow.  You have shown a well of compassion for those around you, kindness towards those that others would overlook. Your happiness is nothing short of contagious.  Your determination spurs us on. Welcome to 1st Grade Alex.  A time marking the entrance into the land of education, the land of learning how to be a better student, a better friend, a better person.  Marking the beginning of expanded possibilities for you.   We hope we have done well by you thus far.  We hope, we know, your teachers, your peers will help you grow as we have into the man you will one day become.
