Or So He Thought

bad behaviors Tricked. Outsmarted. Befuddled …or so he thought. Alex thought he had me convinced that no bad behaviors would ever return, but I’m a mom. I’m his mom! And I’ve learned to read him. I’ve been having to do the “Bob and Weave”. Flying ax kicks towards my head (no flight is really involved), hitting, no real screaming (thankfully). Lots and lots of squirming during changes, etc…everything is a game. Reinforcements (i.e., Nana) called once again. It is only in the afternoon, when he returns home from school. School is new, we’re only in his second week of full-time, “on” all the time school. He’s exhausted. He’s also backed up…something we’re trying to “Miralax”. It’s all just new. However, I would be remiss not to say how much he’s CHANGED. Changed. He’s a new little boy. Back to the boy we knew before, even showing us one that’s been locked inside. Each day I hear him say something I’ve never heard, longer sentences, more reflection. Each day I see him react to situations in ways I have never seen. Transitions are easy, struggles are almost nil. He finds everything humorous; everything funny….which is why he wiggles so much on changes. He thinks it’s a game. Good thing the school is helping with toileting…which is working like a charm!

I’m a mother to 3 children, one with special needs.. I have done a great many things in my life thus far, but being a wife and mother is the most challenging.
