This blog post is by Kevin Hughes. He and a few family members put together this baseball event to raise money in honor of their nephew, Matthew.

Me along with Matthew's aunts and uncles wanted to do something in support of our nephew. We figured why not an inexpensive night with family and friends in a very kid friendly atmosphere? So we decided to have an outing at the Windy City Thunderbolts game located in Crestwood.

Tickets were $10 per person and 50% of the ticket sales go the Chicago Chapter of Autism Speaks. We were able to sell over 400 tickets in just a month's time. Matthew got to throw out the first pitch, they had a table set up at the main gate to raise awareness for Autism speaks, and raised over $5,000 on the night thru ticket sales and donations. The weather was perfect, and everyone had a blast, we can't wait to do it again in 2013.
