Reconnecting by Disconnecting

During a recent counseling session, I mentioned that I liked it when my husband drove the car and he said that he feels the same way when I drive. So we’ve made a decision to set aside time each day to disconnect.

It is strange walking out of the house and deliberately leaving our phones at home.  We go for a walk just a family, spending time together, talking to each other, exploring our neighbourhood. I worry what happens if we need to use the epipen, how would we call for an ambulance. Yet we live in a busy suburban area, many people are out in their yards, others are out walking too.

As I walk I mourn all the missed photo opportunities, the easy access to my notepad to write down things Heidi says?
