CBN News mentions Autisable
Every now and then you stumble across articles that may be of interest. Personally I seek articles that discuss Autisable so I can make mention of them on the site and elsewhere. Many times I find posts in forums or blog posts, other times I find Autisable mentioned in the news.
This time, however, I was e-mailed the link by the author, to which I’m very grateful. Moments like this don’t come that often, so I have to share.
Here’s the post – http://blogs.cbn.com/healthyliving/archive/2012/02/10/recognizing-autism.aspx
The Author is CBN News Medical Reporter, Lorie Johnson.
For those that don’t know about CBN News, they are a part of the Christian Broadcasting Network. They are a news program that reaches over 136 countries around the world and are also online at CBN.com. The reporters at CBN News do their best to provide a balanced news story, and I’m truly honored that one reporter mentioned Autisable.
Lorie shares a little about how to recognize Autism, and cites Autisable as a resource where “it’s giving families facing autism strength by reinforcing the fact that they are not alone. There are millions of families dealing with Autism and the bond they form with one another through sharing is truly an answered prayer.”
I’m glad Lorie shared this fact, as I have received many messages and e-mails from Parents telling us that they are glad that Autisable is around, as they know now that they are not alone.
An answered prayer? Absolutely.
There’s so many stories from our members we’ve highlighted on the main page – and each one involves someone dealing with Autism in some way. But our main page and the articles we highlight are just the tip of the iceberg. It’s those who join Autisable and connect and share their journey that deserve the praise. After all, it takes courage to talk about this issue – and determination to keep the discussion going.
Until next time, I’m back to searching for more articles.
Thanks for writing this. I really feel as though I know so much more about this than I did before. Your blog really brought some things to light that I never would have thought about before reading it. You should continue this, Im sure most people would agree youve got a gift.
This is wonderful, and it also raises awareness of Autism. =) I’m so glad that CBN understands Autisable
