“Stay Please”

This morning I was getting ready for work, and Short Stack woke up and wanted to play outside.

I got him dressed, then let him out to go play in the back yard.

He then played for a few minutes, and came back inside and ran to give me a big hug.

Then he looked at me while I was gathering things to leave for work and Said, “Stay, please”

Suffice it to say, it’s not often he says something like this.  But he’s progressing in his speech and getting better at appropriate requests.  (for those who don’t know, my son has Autism)

It took a bit longer to leave the house, as to address the transition of me having to leave for work.

I’m looking forward to some father son time this weekend.

What can I say, I’m a dad.

  • I love good dad (: I have an autism student too.. He needs more attention from me.. Sometimes he does thing I don’t even know what’s he doing and then he runs, hugs and kisses my cheek. That’s the sweet things I will always remember

  • Yeah, you never know when the moment will come and when it does you better grab it, because if you blink it’ll dissipate like a cloud of steam.  It’s moments like that that help make it all worthwhile.
