Homemade GFCF Taco Seasoning: Recipe of the Week
For the perfect GFCF taco seasoning…. Combine all of the spices together and store in an air tight container. Use 2 tablespoons per pound of ground beef or turkey for tacos. Can also use in dips, casseroles, soups, BBQ sauce, or in any dish you want to add a burst of flavor.
2 TB Paprika
6 TB Chili Powder
3 TB Cumin
3 TB Garlic
1 tsp White Pepper
1 tsp Black Pepper
1 tsp Kosher Salt
½ tsp Cayenne Pepper
½ tsp Xantham Gum
I have found xanthan gum at Whole Foods and in the health food section at Giant Eagle. I have searched other parts of the regular super markets and it isn’t there. Check by the rice flour. It is expensive $12 for a bag, but it lasts forever. Most recipes I make or use only call for a 1/2 teaspoon here a teaspoon there. My last bag lasted 10 months and I bake often. If anyone else has a place they’ve found it, let us know.
@lupus_lady@xanga –@wild_dakota_rose@xanga – Ive seen Xanathan gum at health food stores and even a local farmer’s market with their bulk spices. Check near the spices in your supermarket, you’re bound to find it (esp at a larger one)
Yeah; that’s what I was wondering too….
I’m a newbie- where do you get xanthum gum?
